We eat a lot of brown rice at our house! My kids like it, my husband likes it and I love it, so it’s a definite staple for our family. I like to have frozen brown rice on hand for easy week night meals, but I also make it quite often. I’ve found that my instant pot yields the quickest and best tasting brown rice that my whole family loves.
Jump to RecipeDo You Need To Rinse Brown Rice?
It is not as important to rinse brown rice as it is to rinse white rice. The brown rice still has the hull surrounding the endosperm (the white part of the grain). The hull prevents a lot of starch from getting out while the grain is still dry. Feel free to rinse in a mesh sieve before cooking. Please note that this recipe is designed specifically for brown rice.

If you’re interested in purchasing your own instant pot, here is the one I have and love (affiliate link). It is big enough for our family of six, but not too big; I am still able to easily fit it under my cabinets for storage.
