This is a tip I give people all the time – bake your bacon!
Yes, you read that correctly, I really think baked bacon is the best. I promise, you won’t be disappointed! This is the best way to cook a large amount of bacon quickly and evenly. You won’t have grease splatter all over your stove to clean up and the bacon won’t curl up from an overly hot pan.
Here are my tips and tricks for perfect bacon.
- This one is pretty obvious…BAKE your bacon!
- Use parchment paper. I buy mine in bulk at a restaurant supply store, however there are plenty of other good products available. You can certainly buy the rolled up kind at the grocery store, but I don’t like how it rolls back on itself. I buy flat sheets similar to these. They will fit perfectly onto a standard baking sheet and make clean up a breeze.
- My other recommendation is to use thick cut bacon. That is a bit of a personal preference, but I say if you’re going for bacon, go all the way and get the best.
How To Bake Bacon
Preheat your oven to 400° Fahrenheit
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and lay bacon slices in a single layer. You can put them right next to each other.
Bake thick cut bacon for 20-25 minutes (until desired crispness) thinner bacon will take less time. The thick cut bacon I baked in these pictures was in the oven for 21 minutes.
You and your family may eat it all up, but if you don’t and you have leftovers, they’ll last for up to a week in the refrigerator. I cut pieces in half and put them in a storage container. You can add to sandwiches and wraps or chop up a few pieces to add to a salad or omelet. The possibilities are endless!
Next time you’re craving some bacon, I hope you head my advice and bake it. I think you will love the results and will never go back to the frying pan or microwave again, I know I haven’t.
I hope you jump on the baked bacon train with me and that you enjoy it as much as I do. Get my free Family Meal Planner straight to your in box, when you sing up here.
Until next time, happy cooking!
